Antique Sterling Silver from Birmingham, England Cigarette Case 1937 #23

This is an antique solid sterling silver cigarette case that was made by S & Bm (Smith and Bartlam) in Birmingham, England in 1937. It is double and holds cigarettes on both sides. It is curved to fit into a hip pocket. It weighs 108 grams or 3.8 OZ. Size 3.5 x 3.4”. The internal gilding is in very good condition. The cigarette case has both original elastic bands. It is hallmarked to the lid with S&Bm, anchor, lion (sterling silver assay mark), and N showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1937. The base is also hallmarked with lion and N. Inside inscription reads “PRESENTED TO BOM IN APPRECIATION OF HIS SERVICES AS RACE SECRETARY”. It has official logo of Gravesend Cycling Club anthe upper left corner.
