This is a beautiful Vintage Russian Orthodox solid brass Crucifix. The Crucifix was made in the XX Century. On the front it has image of Crucified Jesus and abbreviation in Old Russian language for Jesus Christ. The Crucifix is in excellent condition the raised letters and 3 dimension figure are in perfect condition, which is very rare for old brass items. Size is 3.9†x 2.6†x 0.25†thick. The crucifix is a principal symbol for many groups of Christians, and one of the most common forms of the Crucifixion in the arts. It is especially important in the Roman Rite of the Roman Catholic Church, but is also used in the Eastern Orthodox Church. The crucifix emphasizes Jesus' sacrifice—his death by crucifixion, which Christians believe brought about the redemption of humankind.
