This is an ORIGINAL medal of Liberation of Belgrade, variation 1. The medals Liberation of Belgrade were established on June 9, 1945. The medals are made out of brass. The medals were awarded to all servicemen of the Soviet Army, Navy, Ministry of Internal Affairs Troops (MVD) and State Security Committee Troops (KGB) who participated in the liberation of Belgrade from September 29, 1944 until October 22,1944. Soviet troops began an offensive move on September 28th towards Belgrade (the capital of Yugoslavia) with the goal of to liberate the city from fascist forces. War ships of the Danube Navy participated. On October 20th the city was liberated. The medal Liberation of Belgrade is very rare for any collection; they were issued only under 70,000 pieces.
