This is beautiful hand painted set produced by famous Russian Lomonosov Factory. The set is made in 1980th in USSR. Please pay attention to the logo of the Lomonosov factory. This particular logo was used by Lomonosov factory in 1980th. The set includes: 6 dessert plates and cookie plate. The set is HAND PAINTED and gold plated by Russian artists, so it can slightly differ in colors as they are done by different painters. The original Lomonosov factory logo is on the bottom of each item (see picture). Diameter of dessert plate is 7 and diameter of cookie plate is 8.25â€. The set is great for collection because it is produced in 1980th in USSR (country which does not exist anymore). The Lomonosov Imperial Porcelain Factory was founded in St. Petersburg in 1744 under the decree of Peter the Great's daughter Empress Elizabeth. It was the first porcelain company in Russia and the third in all of Europe. This is where the talented Russian scientist Dmitry Vinogradov (1720-1758) discovered the secret of making ''white gold.'' He was the first in the history of ceramics who made a scientific description of porcelain production. The Russian porcelain by Vinogradov had qualities similar to Meissen porcelain. One of the Lomonosov Factory lines of production is teapots, tea and dinner sets.
