This is an antique Russian solid sterling silver cigarette case that was made in Finland /Russia in 1820 (see the book “Antique Silver by Diana Sanders Cinamon, published in 2005; page 112) according to the silver identification mark (see picture). At that time Finland was part of Imperial Russia. This beautiful sterling silver cigarette case has carefully engraved horse head within a horseshoe. It holds cigarettes on one side (elastic stripe is missing). It is heavy, weighs 4.1 OZ or 116 grams. Size 4 x 3.1â€. The cigarette case has hallmarks L84 in a very good condition (see picture). The cigarette case is gilded inside and the gild is in excellent condition. The Excellent condition for its age; great for any collection.
