This is a nice vintage 3-dimensional table medal issued in 1975 to commemorate 30 years of victory over Germany. On the front of this medal the Khatyn monument is depicted. This monument is located on the place of village Khatyn, 20 miles out of Minsk City the capital of Belarus. During World War II German soldiers locked all the people of this village including children in one barn and burnt them alive on March 22, 1943. It is very sad monument, which has chimneys of burnt houses with bells in each of them. The bells are playing very sad melody to remind people of the tragedy. On the back of the medal is written in Russian language the actual inscription from the Monument. It is made out of aluminum. Diameter is 65 mm, thickness 7 mm. You buy what you see on the pictures.
