The very nice vintage table medal was issued in USSR in 1990 to commemorate “Russian icebreaker Rossiya on North Poleâ€. The front of the medal has the image of the Atomic icebreaker ROSSIYA and writing “A/B Rossia on the North Pole, 1990â€. The back of the medal has the logo of the Murmansk Shipping Company. Murmansk Shipping Company was founded in 1939. Murmansk Shipping Company (Russian: МурманÑкое морÑкое пароходÑтво), often abbreviated as MSCO, is a Russian shipping company based in Murmansk (hence the name). One of the primary shipping companies operating in Arctic Russia and northern Europe. The medal is made out of heavy brass, 109 grams, diameter 60 mm, thickness 4 mm. Coming in red plastic box.
