This is a vintage ORIGINAL extremely rare set of 2 Documents. The set includes Communist Party of the Soviet Union and Trade Union membership cards which were issued to Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Ivanovich Oleinik. Mikhail Oleinik was born on September 29, 1908 in the Sumy region of Ukraine. In 1930-1933 Oleinik served in the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Since September 1942 he served on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 21, 1943, for ''exemplary performance of combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown at the same time,'' Sergeant Mikhail Oleinik was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal, number 942. After the end of the war Oleinik continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1954, with the rank of major, he was transferred to the reserve. Lived in Kyiv. He died on October 15, 2000, and was buried at the Berkovets cemetery in Kyiv. He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, two Orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, two Orders of the Red Star, and a number of medals (see picture).
