This is vintage hand painted original Nativity icon. The Nativity icon shows theme in Christian art depicting the newborn Jesus with Angels and Virgin Mary. The writings in abbreviated Old Russian Language on the icon stand for Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary. This rare beautiful icon is handmade and hand painted in USSR in late 1980s. The icon is blessed by Russian Orthodox Church. It is one of a kind and the artist has made only one. You buy what you see on the pictures. The Nativity icon is hand painted by Belorussian artist on solid heavy hardwood board. A lot of icon details were gilded and icon was lacquered over the painting. The icon is in excellent condition for its age but it has some minor imperfections (see pictures). Size is 9.9 x 6.5 x 1/2”. It is difficult to find the completely hand painted icons at that time.
