This is vintage hand painted original Our Lady of Kazan / Virgin Mary of Kazan Orthodox Christian icon. The writings in abbreviated Old Russian Language on the icon stand for Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary. This rare beautiful icon is handmade and COMPLETELY hand painted in USSR in late 1980s. It is difficult to find the completely hand painted icons at that time. The icon is blessed by Russian Orthodox Church. It is one of a kind and the artist has made only one. You buy what you see on the pictures. The Our Lady of Kazan icon is hand painted by Belorussian artist on solid hardwood board. A lot of icon details were gilded and icon was lacquered over the painting. The icon is in excellent condition for its age (see pictures). Size is 6.4 x 4.75 x 5/8”.
