This is a beautiful rare vintage XX Century Eastern Orthodox Byzantine style bronze Cross with Crescent. The Orthodox Byzantine crescent symbolized royal power. One very rare variation of the Russian Orthodox Cross is the 'Cross over Crescent'. The twelve balls located on the outer borders of the cross designate the twelve apostles. The Cross was made in the XX Century. On the front it has image of Russian Orthodox cross and Old Russian letters. The Cross is in excellent condition for its age, the raised letters are in perfect condition, which is very rare. Size is 2.5 (with the hook) x 2.25 inches; weight 16.7 G. The cross is a principal symbol for Christians.
