It was issued in 1953 by a Soviet military factory, adhering to the national USSR standard for that year. Crafted from 100% heavy wool, the flag measures 60 x 39 inches. It features an original military fac-tory stamp visible in accompanying pictures, which reads ''1953 and Vozrozhdenie.'' The name ''Vozrozhdenie'' corresponds to a former Russian island and naval base; it is plausible the flag was used by a Soviet aircraft carrier stationed there.
