This is a very unique Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus/ Our Lady of Kazan vintage icon hand painted and engraved on metal plate in USSR/Belarus in 1993 by unknown talented Belarusian artist. The artist used very unique technique. He hand panted and hand engraved religious artifacts on metal plate. The icon has writings in abbreviated Old Russian Language standing for Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. The icon is framed in a very nice frame. Size of the frame 15.5 x 13.25, icon size 10 x 8”. It is very nice home or office decoration and great Christmas present. Our Lady of Kazan, also called Mother of God of Kazan, is a holy icon of the highest stature within the Russian Orthodox Church, representing the Virgin Mary as the protector and patroness of the city of Kazan, and a palladium of all of Russia and Rus', known as the Holy Protectress of Russia.
